Tyrannosaurus rex the famous king of dinosaurs was the top predator of his day – well-armed with terrifying jaws, seemingly impervious to attack.

But new fossils are revealing that the lives of T. rex and his cousins were brutal with devastating injuries part of their routine. It’s tough at the top, with predators having to constantly pick their fights and put themselves into dangerous situations – and they don’t always get it right.

Now with frontier science we are able to reconstruct their dramatic lives with a new level of accuracy and gory detail. T. rex was as tough as they come.
